Space Monster is an inherited space, from the legendary stink magnetic h.q. it became space monster shortly after that - and the name 'Space monster' is a direct homage to its previous runner. today, space monster is a music venue, fascilitating bands from new zealand and around the world. with an emphasis on real and true performance's, in a music orientated atmosphere. its diy at heart and runs with no financial inscentives or directives - the main purpose is to bring exciting bands through what would or could otherwise be another un-toured provincial town. acts and genres vary wildly - i like to think there is something for everyone. space monster has been running for around 3 years and has seen bands from europe, usa, aus, japan, and further abroard - not to mention the amazing bands nz produces (most of which you'll never have heard of) - we look forward to more.
